Ningbo Institute of Dalian University of Technology (DUT) is a public institution that enjoys independent legal person status. In accordance with the principle of “complementary advantages, common development, mutual benefit and win-win achievements”, it was established by DUT and Ningbo Municipal Government. It was registered in July 2019 and officially opened on December 5, 2020. Since the establishment of the Ningbo Institue, focusing on the core businesses, such as R&D innovation, talent training, scientific and technological services,  industrial cultivation and so on, it has now established five innovation centers, including Green Fine Chemical and Biomedical Technology Innovation Center, High-end Equipment and Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Innovation Center, New Materials and Molding Technology Innovation Center, Information, Software and Artificial Intelligence Technology Innovation Center, and Major Infrastructure Construction Technology Innovation Center. There are 17 innovation teams ,with more than 190 full-time and part-time scientific researchers. In 2021, the institute will be approved as a "New R&D Institution in Zhejiang Province"; in 2022, it will be approved as a "Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation Supporting Unit".In 2021, the institute was approved as a “New R&D Institution in Zhejiang Province”; in 2022, it was approved as a “Supporting Unit of Zhejiang Natural Science Foundation”.

In the future, the Institute will build up a triune development model of hard & core technology, soft power and union,strive to build a first-class technological innovation base and open platform in the field of digital economy, fully empower the digital and intelligent transformation of Ningbo's manufacturing industry, and provide a great labor force for Ningbo's extraordinary development of the digital economy.
