Team introduction

The biopharmaceutical team of Dalian University of Technology is mainly oriented to resident's health and the main field of economy, focusing on the development and utilization of marine biological and plant resources around Ningbo. We have developed new active lead compounds such as anti-tumor, anti-virus and anti-aging drugs, promoted the research of innovative drugs, developed the key technologies of functional health food, and transformed the research achievements into commercial products. The team is a combination of the seniors, the middle-aged and the young. The team members have rich experience in the preparation of small molecule chemical drugs, separation of natural active compounds, construction of multiple active screening models, transformation of chemical structure, green pharmaceutical process and engineering, and research in the field of biomedicine. We also have cooperation with research teams of world-famous pharmaceutical enterprises and Universities.

The team aims to carry out the research and development of new drugs and functional products, and provide technical and product services and support to meet the people's needs for a better life and improve the national healthy living standard.

Professor Meng Qingwei: Professor and doctoral supervisor of Dalian University of Technology; Distinguished professor of Liaoning Province, innovative leader of the "Revitalizing Liaoning Talents Program", outstanding scientific and technological worker of Liaoning Province, outstanding expert of Dalian City, deputy director of Liaoning Fine Chemical Industry Common Technology Innovation Center, director of Key Laboratory of Photocatalytic Preparation of Chiral Compounds of China Petrochemical Federation (2016), director of Dalian Green Pharmaceutical Engineering Technology Center (2013) Director of Dalian Anti viral Small Molecule Drug Engineering Research Center (2020), presided over many key research projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, NSFC and the province, won 4 provincial and ministerial awards, published more than 80 articles, authorized 26 invention patents and transformed more than 10. He guided college students to win the highest award and the first prize of the 5th, 6th and 8th National College Students Pharmaceutical Engineering Design Contest. Four scientific research achievements have been industrialized, creating a economic benefit of more than 100 million yuan every year.

Team R&D direction

1. Research on green pharmaceutical process technology and key technology of drug production quality control;

2. Isolation, purification and activity evaluation of natural active compounds;

3. Total synthesis and structure-activity relationship of natural active compounds;

4. Pharmacodynamic evaluation and mechanism of action of active compounds.

Team research achievements and application fields

The team has published more than 200 high-level academic papers in pharmacy,and has undertaken more than 20 national, provincial and ministerial fund projects, won the New Century Excellent Talents Support Plan of the Ministry of Education, a second prize for technological invention in Liaoning Province, a second prize for new products in Liaoning Province, a third prize for scientific and technological progress in Liaoning Province, a first prize for Dalian Patent Award, and a second prize for Dalian Patent Award. We promote the cooperation between industry, university and research institution, and provide services for relevant enterprises in the industry to solve technical problems. The industrialization of four achievements has created a benfit of more than 100 million yuan every year.
